SINGLE AND DOUBLE LOOP FIBC 1

Overview

Also called as Fertilizer bags, Single and Double Loop FIBC are cost effective bulk-handling solutions suitable for companies handling larger volumes, demanding high output capacity. These big-bags are mostly used for fertilizer, fish feed, cement, seed, chemicals, minerals, etc.

Single and two loop FIBCs are generally made using circular polypropylene fabric (PP). They are less complicated and more economical in comparison to a four loop FIBC. These bags are different in construction compared to that of a standard four loop FIBC. The body-fabric of the bag itself is formed into a lifting loop which gives the bag a higher breaking strength and makes the FIBC easier to lift. The top lifting point/s of the bag are generally wrapped with sleeves.

Two Loop bags are generally required when greater access is needed whilst filling the bag. Once the bag has been filled to the required SWL ( Safe Working Load ) the two loops must then be tied together for lifting as a single loop FIBC.

SINGLE AND DOUBLE LOOP FIBC

The Ultimate Guide to Single and Double Loop FIBCs

Single and Double Loop FIBCs representing a simplified, highly efficient class of bulk bags, often synonymous with the fertilizer and agriculture industries. Unlike standard 4-loop bags where loops are sewn into the corners, these bags are constructed from tubular fabric where the lifting loops are formed directly from the main body fabric itself.

This integral loop construction offers exceptional strength but, more importantly, simplicity. A crane hook or forklift tine can grab the single (or double) loop in one motion, without needing a second person to hold open four separate loops. This makes them ideal for automated, high-speed filling lines and rapid handling in ports and agricultural depots.

Sometimes referred to as 'Fertilizer Bags', they are engineered for volume. They prioritize speed and cost-efficiency. They typically feature a protective outer bag or liner to protect hydroscopic contents like fertilizers and cement from weather conditions, as they are often stored or handled in semi-outdoor environments.

Commercial Uses

The fertilizer industry is the largest user, utilizing millions of these bags annually for urea, phosphates, and nitrates. The single-point lift allows for rapid loading of ships and trucks.

Cement and lime manufacturers use Double Loop bags for automated filling plants. The design allows the bag to be suspended, filled, and moved on conveyors without manual loop handling.

Agricultural cooperatives use them for bulk seeds and grains, where the low unit cost and ease of handling with simple farm equipment make them the preferred choice over complex 4-loop bags.

Advantages

  • No pallet required for lifting
  • High breaking strength loops

Applications

  • Fertilizers
  • Cement & Lime
  • Fish Feed & Seeds
  • Chemicals

Frequently Asked Questions

Speed and automation. It's much faster for a crane or forklift to hook a single loop than to gather four separate corner loops.
